Emakina Minifoot Fans Unite for Kickoff

Just because many Emakinians are geeks, doesn’t mean we don’t love us some sports. This is 2015 and mens sana in corpore sano still means something. Especially to people who studied latin. But that’s not the point. The point is: Emakinians love to pretend they know how to football, and they are going to have to put their moneys where their mouthes are.

So besides heated Fussbal-kicker games at the office and fiery debates about our favorite teams, Emakina has an annual minifoot event that has become a very appreciated tradition. Over a 3 months period, people who want to join in and kick the ol’ ball around are welcome to stretch their muscles and score a few goals – or die trying – during these indoor football meetings.

Of course, as you can expect from a true digital native agency, a pretty cool automated invitation and database system have been put in place to make it all happen. The minifoot mailings are managed using Selligent’s DM tools, including invitation lists and reminders.

They say the matches are just for fun, but as Bill Shankly poetically put it: “Some people think football is a matter of life and death. I assure you, it’s much more serious than that.” And in the end, everyone wins, except for the losers who will be teased until they buy rounds of drinks. Then all is soon forgotten when we all share a good meal and drink to celebrate/forget!

So, are you excited about this? In the meantime, come and join us at the kicker in the hall, where only feelings get hurt when bodies fail to do the job properly…
